We all receive results, but at times it doesn’t feel like we’re in control. We were just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Over the course of my business career and in my personal life I found that I could be in the right place, at the right time and still not see the opportunity. As I studied high achievers I found 7 common traits or principles for getting the maximum return on the time, money and effort invested. While I don’t feel this is a totally complete list, it will give you the foundation for high achievement in anything you choose to engage in.

Reduce the pressure. Even when all of the elements for success are present we can delay or stop our desired results by adding unneeded pressure to ourselves. It’s not a race, and it’s not a competition. By setting your own timeline you can pace yourself. I like to think of it as a marathon and not a sprint. The goal is to finish the race.

Be clear on your desired results. Know where you are going and why. Sit down and determine what the specific results you want to receive are. By doing this you will save yourself an enormous amount of time and money.

Use the principle of 3. On any given day look for the 3 activities that will give you the maximum benefit. We can get distracted with a huge to do list. Once you have done the three most important tasks in a day you can always overachieve and do more.

Create your unique positioning. Over the years I have talked about a process called Elevate and Separate which simply means that we show ourselves to the public in a way that we are seen as unique. This is not saying that we are better than anyone else, but just different.

Develop a resource system. There are times when we all need help in facilitating a need. This may be a product, service or even a live person to complete a project. By creating a list of helpful like-minded individuals you’ll become a valued resource.

Get a coach and mastermind. This is not a shameless promotional plug. Most high achievers I know have coaches and are in mastermind groups. It is critical to have someone in your life that gives you perspective and feedback in areas that you are too close to, to be able to see clearly. I know it’s because of my personal coaches and masterminds that I have been able to achieve more in a shorter period of time than if I had done it all on my own.

Take action! We can’t control the responses from our actions but we can control our activity. The process for receiving Maximum On Purpose Results is simple, but the implementation of the principles must be deliberate.

My hope is that you decide to take this brief outline and implement these 7 principles into your life and business. When you do I would love to hear your story.

To your success!
